The Apple Didn’t Sin!
We were created out of love. Did you know you are God’s “Beloved”? Now beloved means greatly loved by God. No one can love, like God, for God is love. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” John 15:9. Please, if you remember nothing else, remember this, you are so loved. God’s Word reminds us to “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1) if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and become saved.
We are the reason there was ever a beginning as a Holy {US} Trinity created us! Genesis 1:26 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and overall the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
God created us for fellowship with himself. We are the Apple Of God’s eye. His best work! His masterpiece. He created Eden as a place for us to live in love and guess what, when Jesus left, he too went in love to prepare our final home for us, and I can’t wait to see that. Now someone did not like that we are God’s workmanship, his prize possession, the devil! After the devil lost his Fellowship and position of honor, he hated that he was cast down and hated even more God’s love and companionship with us.
Revelation 12:9 – “And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”
Luke 10:18 – And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” The only reason for our warfare each day is out of his pride and jealousy and the curse of sin. That makes us his prime target of hatred. 2 Corinthians 11:3 – “But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
That’s where we live today. There is an ongoing battle of good verse evil. Sin is what separates us from God. The orientation of sin starts as a thought and is contrary to what God lays out as right or wrong, which is an act of disobedience. This happens through action on the deposition of the half-truth, which is a lie that is embedded in your mind. Now the devil hopes that you would not test or catch on to this tactic. Sin in root is a thought that you do not take captive, but instead, it becomes an action that you usually try to justify and reason with it. You entertain the idea or justify it. When one acts, it becomes sin, and it is nine times out of 10 being rooted in one of these critical areas; pain, selfishness, or pride. All rebelliousness begins with “I will.” All obedience to God begins with, “thy well.” Seduction exists because we are the people of God the apple of his eye his great work! The only reason for our war is that we are the beloved of God, and the enemy knows his time is short.
Revelation 12:12 – “Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” When we realize God wants us to know without a shadow of a doubt that he loves us and that he made way for us and when we have a personal relationship with him, we have more power than him in the world because of who lives inside of us.
2 Timothy 2:26 – “and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” We don’t have to give in to our sinful nature, but to become more like Christ and call on the power of God to overcome the evil one. That’s why those of us who are sealed and born again can take hope in this TRUTH!
1 John 5:18 – “We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.” How does this happen? By Fellowship with him. The saddest part is the ones who turn away and forgets they are loved and the high price paid for their sin.
1 Timothy 4:1-16 – says “Some Will Depart from the Faith 1Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. 6If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. 7Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; 8for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. 9The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. 10For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. 11Command and teach these things. 12Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 13Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. 14Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. 15Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. 16Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
Devote yourself to the Word of God. It is sad and disappointing when professing Christians stray from their faith. Paul writes that some are giving up on their faith and chasing after ‘demonic illusions put forth by professional liars.’ Guard yourself against deception by studying the truth – which is revealed by the Holy Spirit in the Word of God. The Christian walk is a narrow path that leads out of the swamp of compulsive behavior. If we allow ourselves to deviate from this path, we immediately put ourselves on the slippery ground that runs the risk of falling into the bog of quicksand. Remember EVE? The longer we maintain a firm foundation in what God’s Word says, believe it, and claim it for ourselves and stay in our Word, we are walking the correct path.
It is so much easier to stay on the narrow path with shoes of peace than to tread on a slippery one with no solid foundation and slip off the edge into the abyss. That’s when we have to work even harder to regain footing and grip to head in the right direction. Think of Adams curse how hard man has it now on this earth because of his sin. God never wanted any of that, but he still makes away for us; God can and will help you find it again with his mercy and his grace. Just like after the fall, he gave Adam and Eve a path to Fellowship with him again. None of this can happen without the power of Christ! The Bible says in Isaiah 53:6 – 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
We become part of the sinful nature or compulsive actions, thoughts, behaviors, and actions. We backslide as they call it, or we become lost in the sinfulness of this world. If walking in righteousness and having a personal relationship with God is not the most important thing in our lives, then numerous other idols will pop up and take priority, and we gradually will destroy ourselves. I am not sure about you, but I ask God to remind me of who I am the apple of his eye. I ask God to please guide my steps, and I pray daily that by his help that I stay on the narrow path of obedience.
So for the world, those who don’t know him, the devil’s goal is to keep them lost. To us, that believe it is to lure us and deceive us just like back in the garden or just like with Jesus in the wilderness. Satan’s temptations are designed to catch the believers off-guard. They look good, they are full of half-truths, and I hate to hurt your feelings, but a half-truth is still a lie, and he is the Father of lies. These are called fiery arrows, or schemes, and the only way to combat them is to activate the shield of faith. See, he wants to do anything he can to draw us away from God to ruin our testimony to walk out our purpose-driven life. He wants to ruin or destroy our Fellowship with the Father, the same Fellowship he lost, and can NEVER get back, but God made a path!
By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to bring to mind the promises of God when we need them the most, just like Jesus did when he was tempted by the serpent. See, we are able to have victory over Satan schemes when we renew our mind and fill our inner soul and our heart with the truth of the Bible. See, pure light expels darkness. When you walk in the light of his freedom, a transformation takes place. The last thing the devil wants for a person to realize is who they were created to be, The Apple of God’s Eye!
